Nancee Brown Interiors

Project Overview

We met Nancee Brown Interior Design in 2017. Nancee Brown reached out to us asking about developing a website that could effectively showcase her projects. The website would need to be filled with image features, highlighting the different projects that Nancee Brown has completed over the last two decades. The website would need to be responsive, to allow visitors shame the same viewing experience regardless of the device type they are using. The website needs to perform, pages should load quickly and the same with the images and their carousels. The website should also be easy to manage and use. As Nancee Brown Interior Design continue to build their portfolio, sharing their projects online should be simple to do.

Our partnership together started with finding the right foundation. With Nancee Brown Interior Design working on so many different types of projects, our team of designers focused on developing a portfolio based website. The website would highlight the various styles of interior designs. From Manhattan Luxury to a Caribbean Paradise, guests can view thirteen different types of interior design themes. Giving them a taste of what Nancee Brown Interior Design can do with any type of room.

In this scenario, we designed a website to tell Nancee Brown’s story through images. Visitors don’t have to guess about Nancee Brown’s work, they can see first hand her craftsmanship.

Impact on Business

With the website being setup for projects, having an image based website told the story Nancee Brown wants to convey. The portfolio based theme allows for projects to easily be added. Portfolio projects themselves include a feature slider. There is no landing pages to worry about, images and a simple description of what the image is about.

As a user, Nancee Brown can easily add to her portfolio. No complicated form fields or boxes to fill out. The process to promote a project is quick and easy. The same can be said for guests who visit the website. The navigation is simple and clean. Visitors don’t have to jump all around the site looking for certain pages, or sift through a page of text when really all they want to see is the final result.

With the new website came a new layout. Guests can share the same level of experience whether they are on a mobile phone or on their PC. The website will adjust to accommodate the user’s device, making for easy navigation and containing all content within the view port size of the device. Visitor stats have increased due to this feature. Guests are more inclined to stay longer due to the website working as expected. Although simple in design, the message gives a powerful statement. Overall, this website has helped promote Nancee Brown Interior Designs and continues to captivate guests who are looking for an interior design solution.

Thinking Outside the Box

Creating an online portfolio can enhance the reputation of a person or company by showcasing their workmanship. A well dressed portfolio gives tangible examples of past projects that have been accomplished and completed. Displaying projects and their requirements can create confidence in someones capabilities. An informed decision can be made, not by hearing – but by seeing.

Designing portfolio pages need to be insightful and powerful. They are necessary for relating the experience and knowledge of a person. The ability to handle and manage a project.

Site Speed

Being an interior design based website, images are vital. The images should be high enough resolution that they are clear and clean looking. At the same time, the image needs to be reduced to its lowest file size. By reducing the size of the image file, the webpages will load faster. Images that are huge in size may look great on the screen, but depending on the network service someone is using, the webpage can take longer than expected. When that happens, visitors will hit the back button and leave a page.

Every second counts, and with that being said, we seek to design lean coding and file sizes to help with site speed.

Layout

Galleries and carousels are a great way to display images. Pictures are gathered together in a central location and are responsive to the view port size of the device. Guests can click on an image and easily back out. Or, they can stay on the image and swipe (click) to the right or left to go through the rest of the images. When displaying images though, there needs to be a layout. The images can’t be various sizes, otherwise it changes how the slider or pop-up performs. Images need to be contained and formatted to match. We offer a variety of gallery styles with various options to make “image looking” fun and enjoyable. That was our motive for Nancee Brown Interior Designs and we delivered.

Security

Even though a website may not have anything to sell, you still want to offer a level of protection to your users. Today, sites are overloaded with trackers. Marketing teams want to know the habits of users on the internet. They want to know what you brought you to a website, what you are doing on the site, how long you stay on the site, and where you go after you leave a site. Customers like privacy and want to have a safe viewing experience regardless of what site they are on. Whether it’s a SSL Certificate, firewall safety, login enhancements – we offer a range of security services designed to protect the website as well as the user.
