Company project Regional & local transportation agencies

Challenge: Regional and local transportation agencies needed one system to manage funding programs across their member jurisdictions, tracking every project's funding sources, invoices, schedule, and documentation from programming through construction.
Solution: Built a web-based program management platform with role-based access for administrators, agency staff, partners, and the public. It covers fund management by fund type and program year, contractor and State/Federal-aid invoicing, schedules by phase (PE, PA&ED, PS&E, R/W, CON) with federal and state targets, deadlines, and milestones, project mapping with route segments, and a document library for agreements, MOUs, finance letters, and E-76s. It also includes onboarding and offboarding tools and a community project input tool.
Result: Multiple agencies manage their capital programs in one place, produce board and commission reports, and publish project information to the public.

Company project Public safety · Funded by a city police department

Challenge: Outreach to people experiencing homelessness depended on scattered notes, making it hard to know a person's current status, history, and shelter eligibility.
Solution: Built a case management application with client intake interviews, check-ins, encampment location tracking, shelter eligibility status, and a running record of comments and interactions for each client.
Result: Outreach staff work from a shared, up-to-date record of each client and location instead of individual notes.

Company project County government

Challenge: A county needed dependable scheduled data feeds from multiple sources, normalized and published to internal reporting tools and external consumers.
Solution: Led delivery of a platform with Python APIs, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and a React front end, translating county requirements into scheduled feeds, timezone normalization, reporting tools, and external REST endpoints.
Result: A production platform that continues to evolve as operational needs and real-world data expose new cases.

Challenge: Stakeholders needed timely, validated readings from dozens of field sites, plus long-term history for reporting and compliance.
Solution: Built a system that ingests readings every five minutes from 85 sites, with validation, alerting, archives, and reporting designed around stakeholder needs.
Result: More than 10 years of historical data under management, with ongoing support as data sources and requirements change.

Challenge: Clinical coding teams spend significant time reviewing discharge summaries to assign billing codes.
Solution: Contributed product and technical leadership to build and integrate tools that analyze discharge summaries and suggest billing codes, working with stakeholders and developers on workflows, implementation review, and troubleshooting.
Result: AI-generated suggestions delivered inside the clinical workflow, with human coders retaining final review.

Challenge: Organizations produce hours of source material each week but lack the staff to turn it into structured, publishable content.
Solution: Designed and built an AI-assisted platform covering product direction, user experience, architecture, and WordPress integrations, with background processing and human review.
Result: A live product, built and operated by our team, balancing feature scope, processing cost, and reliability.

Key personnel experience Retail · High-volume commerce

Challenge: A national multi-brand retailer ran several high-volume storefronts and supported 200+ affiliated retail locations on an aging platform that needed to keep running while it was modernized.
Solution: Designed distributed services for payments, inventory, fulfillment, and reporting. Modernized roughly half of the legacy codebase incrementally while it stayed in production. Built mobile commerce, parts discovery, composite products, and store locators, and co-led a five-person engineering team.
Result: A more maintainable platform, a mobile experience customers adopted, and successful features extended across sister brands.

Challenge: Public-sector and nonprofit organizations required enterprise financial ERP with customer-specific interfaces and reliable data conversions.
Solution: Two decades of design, development, and development leadership at SunGard Public Sector and Superion (now CentralSquare Technologies) using C#, .NET, C++, COBOL, SQL Server, and Oracle, including SSIS-based data conversions and integrations with external systems.
Result: Software supporting thousands of users and complex operational workflows across public-sector customers.

Challenge: Two statewide professional associations needed systems to manage their annual meetings.
Solution: Evaluated feasibility, scope, and build-versus-buy options against functional requirements and budget.
Result: Recommended existing subscription software that met their needs at a lower upfront cost than custom development.
